Devon: a 12 year old, 15.3h, bay (with lots of chrome), registered Oldenburg gelding, who is proudly being offered by Jess Systo and Locust Hill Farm. This guy is up for anything… whether it be the ring, a competition, the trail (with or without his friends) the beach or snow.. he does it all with a smile. He is coming off an incredible last two years with his Jr/Yr, with whom he won many blue ribbons between First and Second level, was the second level Region 8 Jr/Yr Second level Champion and the Dressage Seat Equitation Champion, and then finished off the year placing 3rd at Nationals for the Jr/Yr Second level division. He may be on the smaller size, but he can carry a long legged rider well, and has proven he can hold his own against all the big guys. We have never had to lunge him at a show, he’s very well behaved, and is not the type who needs to be ridden every day to guarantee his rider’s safety (This is NOT me saying he’s bombproof and will never every put a foot wrong- just that he’s genuine and honest)He has a correct foundation in his dressage work, and is currently schooling the 3rd level work, including his changes- which are there, they are just not confirmed at this time. Devon has three comfortable gaits, a nice mouth and an excellent work ethic. If you are a confident/competetent rider, who likes a horse who will not only stop when you ask him to, but also go when you ask, and are looking for a partner who will let you do all the things, safely, while having fun, Devon is worth having a look at.
