He’s Smokin Hot aka Chaz 2016 chestnut gelding He’s Had Enough (Tapit) out of Smokin again (Two Punch line).Chaz is offered for a reasonable price as the home that is required is more important than the money. The sale will have a first right of refusal and no auction contract with penalty clause. I am selling Chaz as I am getting close to retirement and scaling down horses. Chaz will not be sold to a beginner or to a timid person. He needs a complete restart as he was not ridden for 2 years and could use some ground training. I just do not have the facilities to do that. The good Chaz is highly intelligent, learns easily, and is lazy in the ring, He participated in Hunt Paces twice, was forward then but controllable. He was a fun ride, sensible on the trail when he was ridden. When I got him, we rode in a program for 1 year, in the Hunter/Jumper area, but did also trail. He is respectful on the ground once he is on a lead line and respects your space when on the lead line. He is easy to shoe, and vet for me. The not so good When I purchased Chaz, he was pinfired on both front legs reason unknown. I took him home from the riding barn as his feet were underrun and the living conditions did not support the shoeing that he needed. When his feet were fixed he unfortunately partially degloved but healed without complications and no limitations just a not so pretty scar.Medical records can be released for prepurchase exam. Chaz requires shoes as he has the tendency to grow hoof with a negative palmar angle. Believe me, we tried to keep shoes off. He has old cold osselets that do not bother him. The Ugly He is not for beginners as he can show dominant and mouthy behavior. He will not lunge to one side. He will ride on the lunge line on both sides. There is no obvious lameness. He can be mouthy so if he is not suitable for someone who wants to hug on him (he will not cuddle). He is a cribber but controlled with collar. He is mouthy. I cannot say that enough. He used to snap at you when blanketing. The barn I boarded him at, had kids place blankets etc. on him and I think he got away with intimidation before. He will not do this with me but has shown me his butt twice now but got corrected. He is a horse that needs a leader but will react negatively if you apply too much pressure. His trailer entrance needs a lot of work, but once in the trailer he is calm. Summary Ideal person for Chaz would be a knowledgeable horse person who wants to have some fun riding and who can be a leader without aggression. I will not sell him as a resale project, or to beginners, or timid people, or aggressive people. Personally speaking I do not see him as an upper-level prospect. I think he would do well in the 2 or 3rd field in the hunt, lower-level dressage as he has good gaits, or lower-level hunter/jumper. The only lameness he ever showed was when he had pancake feet. If you maintain correct angles with the front feet, he was fine. I encourage PPEs paid by purchaser
