Harvey is a 5yo Dutch Harness Cross gelding. In 2025 he had 60 days put on him, and this spring he has started his training back up. From what we know if his history we are guessing that he was started driving and after an injury, he was sent to the Kalona Sale Barn. Harvey loves to trail ride. He will go out alone or in groups. He prefers his trail companions to keep a good pace because he prefers to walk out. Doesn't get naughty at all just has to make some circles for the plodders to catch up. He will cross any obstacle you show him. He will walk through water, cross creeks, and step over logs. He stands great for grooming and tacking up. He will side pass over to the mounting block to pick you up. In the arena Harvey has a nice walk, trot, canter. He knows his leads and is learning to move off of leg pressure. He can have a quick trot but is learning to collect and balance himself. He just attended his first off-property dressage clinic and took the new situation calmly in stride like an old pro. Harvey trailers well. Stands for the farrier and vet. We have not bathed him yet due to the weather, but he stands well to get his legs hosed off. He is lower in the pecking order and easy to catch. Up to date on Coggins, vaccines, hooves and dental. Harvey has an old scar on his hind right from when he was younger. It does not bother him and we can send x-ray images if you are interested. The vet recommended that he not do any major jumping but did not believe the scar would cause any issues with a flat career. He is barefoot and sound. He has a great brain and could easily be brought along by an amateur with the help of a trainer. We want Harvey in the best home for him so we could be quite negotiable to the right match.
