Imported 2 year old Purebred Irish Draught gelding Sporty, modern type. Currently a substantial 15.2, I expect him to make 16.2. Fancy enough to show outside of the Irish Draught classes, sensible enough to make a ladies hunter. Beautiful and correct mover, nice length of stride and range of motion suggests he will be able to jump. I would say he showed at Upperville, but we missed the class 🙄. They did allow us to school in the ring at least, which put him on his toes but mildly so. He stood on the trailer all afternoon like a champ. He's been ponied under tack all over the farm, crossed streams, stepped over logs and been amongst our pack of Airedales, all without turning a hair. I have been on him in the stall several times and can say with confidence he will be uncomplicated to start under saddle. Easy to catch and do, excellent feet, no vices. Playful in turnout but not dominant. Jumps right on the trailer, easy keeper. Another one with a whole future full of hunting and showing etc ahead of him. Probably not fast enough to be competitive at the highest levels of eventing, but sure doesn't mean he couldn't do it.
