This mighty pony was left behind when the owner died and the family thought they had rounded up all the stock. He survived, on his own for four years until the out-of-state family got a call that a lone horse was still on the ranch! He was caught and brought to me for training and adoption. He is 14H, wide as he is tall, great bone, lovely head, pretty mover, willing and VERY smart and high-desert savvy. He had a basic health/soundness screening by the Vet who aged him at 13-14 years. He has been vaccinated, teeth floated, coggins done, feet trimmed and temporary brand inspection papers. He has also had sand clear and has been wormed and is on daily wormer for 30 days. When he arrived, he seemed to know nothing, except that he loves people and RUNS to the gate to meet you! In the 2 weeks he's been here he has learned to lead, tie, saddle and lunge. No bucking, rearing or mean behavior at all so far. He is mouthy but he needs dental work done. We're just starting to get on, and he is so willing! UPDATE: pony is riding quietly under saddle. Visit the Facebook page for video! The biggest challenge is that he has no idea about letting someone pick up his feet. That will take time. He has not been with other horses, just next to them, so we can't tell how he socializes in a herd. Side by side with a fence he's great. This is an adoption, not a sale-for-profit, so the price reflects what we have invested so far in his care, health and training. As of 4/24/2026, those fees come to $1500. The price will increase daily as his training continues. For videos, please click on the link! https://www.facebook.com/MarbellaSwenson/
