🌸Lindalouimage “Sequoia”🌸 16.3h | 7yr old OTTB mare Sequoia is the kind of mare that’s easy to have around and even easier to enjoy. She has a quiet, kind personality and a good brain that makes her suitable for a wide range of riders. She’s been ridden by beginner riders and has proven to be patient, forgiving, and steady, while still being enjoyable for someone more experienced. She rides both English and Western. She’s been out on trails alone and in groups and has crossed creeks and bridges without hesitation. Despite her size, she’s very uncomplicated under saddle and doesn’t feel like your typical big horse. She has a light, floaty way of going that makes her incredibly comfortable to ride. She’s been introduced to trot poles and has been lunged over a very “impressive” 12” jump. While the Olympic jumper career might not be in her future, she’ll happily pop over things for fun. She’s also been lightly started on the barrel pattern and has loped it around a couple of times. She hasn’t been pushed in any one direction, which makes her a great option for someone wanting to take a horse their own way. I personally think she could step right into a lesson program and continue doing what she already does so well. On the ground, she’s just as easy as she is under saddle. She stands tied, bathes, is great for the vet and farrier, and loads and unloads without issue. She’s not mare-ish, not pushy, and is just a genuinely pleasant horse to be around. To note: She does have a small calcification on her front right leg, likely from her racing days. I don’t have extensive history on it, but to my knowledge it is purely cosmetic and has never affected her soundness while she’s been with me.
