Check this guy out!!! He's a rare Morgan as he does have the ability to either gait or trot. Along with some other little things read his whole ad and call or send me a message if you are interested. This guy going to be impressive when he's done growing. His Mom stands at 15.2 hands high and his Dad is about 16 hands tall. And this little guy was born quite leggy we expect him to easily get 15.2-16 hands high with a nice stout muscled build. His Sire is homozygous black his mom has a black and a red gene. We did not color test him he could also be homozygous black. His Mom is more foundation older style lines and his dad has a mixture of the old foundation and some of the show lines. His sire is King of the Wind and his sire was shown in the Grand National and World Championship Morgan Horse Show and placed 7th. This little guy is eligible to be entered into the World Morgan futurity if someone wants to go that route with him. His Mom is tested homozygous for the gait gene and she does both gait and trot. So this little guy would have at least one copy of the gait gene I have seen him do a little shuffle when he goes slow. But for the most part he loves to romp and kick up his heels out in the pasture and when he goes fast he's trotting or cantering. But I have seen him shuffle so when he gets older you could go 3 ways with him. Either A. Train him to gait or trot on cue. B. Only train the trot don't enhance the gait. Or C. Train him to only gait and never trot. I've had a few Morgans like him they are very rare when they gait and even more rare to get one that can do either one. So I like to train mine to do both when possible. So I can sit to a nice little gait when I want or move out at a nice extended trot and post. It does take some time when training to get them to do both but they can only do both if they have the gait gene which he does so you can go both ways with him! He will be ready to go around July - August. He will come up to date on shots/wormings. He will come halter and lead trained. He's already been handled since day one and has a natural curiosity and puppy dog friendly attitude. By the way the DNA panel test we did on his mom included Equine Temperament Gene so it's a gene that can tell if your horse is more intelligent and curious which means your horse is more likely to be less spooky and vigilant. No surprise that she came back homozygous for that gene. So she's more curious and less spooky which is how she acts so I didn't need a test to tell me, but it's fun anyways. And her colt is the same type of personality he's friendly and naturally curious. And he's very confident not easily scared at all. We sent out for his papers so he will come registered through Morgan Horse. Just send a message with any questions if interested. or call two three one 6707101 Located in Hesperia MI
