Buddy is a beautiful well bred American Saddlebred looking for his forever home. His owner raised him from little up but is looking to downsize her herd. I (Martha King, trainer) had him in for a tune-up fall of 2025 from August-November. He had prior riding experience as well, on trails etc. This eye catching boy looks stunning in the cart and could make a great pleasure carriage horse. I started him in the cart last fall and he took to it within the first session. He rides beautifully, although I have been riding him with western tack I’m sure he would look beautiful in English and would transfer over easily. He yields off leg, has a wonderful extended trot, lopes off , stops and backs up. Will go through water and walk down a trail on a loose rein. He has been pastured with other horses all his life so he does prefer to go out with another horse but I have mostly ridden him out alone and he does great with that. More of a forward ride. Buddy does have show horse breeding so he has a quick learning disposition. He seems spooky at first and yes he looks at things but never has he taken off, bolted, etc. I would rather say he is aware of his surroundings at all times but handles high emotions nicely with a confident partner. I rode him in the Manheim Parade last November as you can see in the video, he did WONDERFUL. He’s also taught to ground tie for saddlings, lower head while putting halter/bridle on & off, and will side pass to a mounting block. A big baby personality that LOVES people or other horses. Does seem to be toward the top of the pecking order but is not mean about it. His ground manners are respectful, never has he pushed me around, nipped at me, or kicked. Loves a good bath & stands for farrier. Currently has shoes on his front feet. Buddys owner is very fond of him and wants the right home for him, it would be best if the handler has a confident calm personality as he is a lot of horse. Check out his YouTube video or schedule to come see him at the farm. Text or call is the best/fastest form of contact to me Martha @ 717-869-8033
