Sorrel appendix mare that we pulled from the slaughter pipeline looking for a soft landing. She's estimated to be around 20 years old and appears to have arthritis. She's very friendly and sweet natured. She is broke but we don't allow the kids to ride her because we don't want to cause her any discomfort. She is a slow paced laid back girl that would be best suited as a pasture pet or companion in my opinion. She can canter when she wishes to do so as she's shown when it's feeding time and she isn't at the bottom or top of the pecking order but she can handle herself. She definitely has some spark left in her. She doesn't kick or bite but can be stubborn at times and may just choose to stand still when you're attempting to lead her (but not often, nothing terrible, and is food motivated so it's easy to get her to cooperate with that if needed). She's not what I would consider good for the farrier. She's not mean or anything, she just pushes alot of weight into them which makes it harder for them to get her trimmed. She could possibly end up being a nice light riding horse for a kid with proper maintenance but I can't say that for sure so she's being sold as a companion. She needs a new home with more flat ground than we have here. The terrain here isn't good for her, it's incredibly rough and lots of hills. I don't know any more about this mare than what I've stated. She's not a perfect horse by any stretch but I'm not asking alot for her either (one thousand). I have more in her than I'm asking for, to be perfectly clear. I don't want to have her end up in the same boat she was in before though so I'm not going to set the price low enough to entice the wrong people. Trades considered, whether horse related or not. If you'd like to set up a time to meet her feel free to message. Bring your own halter and lead and means of transport.
