DFs Captains Avenger, “Ava” is an 11 year old registered North American Spotted Draft mare standing at 16h hands. She is absolutely gorgeous and flashy, broke mare that rides and has a history of driving. She is a smooth, willing mover who is eager for connection and to learn.

Ava has been worked both single and double with her past owner, she will need a refresher as she hasn’t done this in a few years. She has been exposed to all types of farm machinery. She has a history of experience with wagon trains, has pulled carriages in town, and has been driven on main roads. Again, she may need a refresher but i’m sure it will come back quickly.

Under saddle she is quiet, responsive, and enjoyable to ride with a good stop, easy turns, and forward movement when asked. She has been trail ridden extensively and crosses obstacles without hesitation. She has primarily been used on trails and often in the arena.

Ava has been used in all aspects of farm work and is versatile enough to go from the trail, the arena, or be used as a broodmare. She is easy to handle and stands well for feet, grooming, bathing, and saddling.

Suitable for a wide range of riders, this mare is dependable, experienced, and ready to go in any direction. At times she can be watchy, but never escalates to much. Because of this and her size I’d recommend someone confident or with some experience. When she’s comfortable, a confident beginner could handle her just fine. With time she continues to become more confident.
