Preacher is the kind of gelding you can take anywhere and do anything with. He’s been brought along correctly, one hand broke, and soft enough to ride in a snaffle or pick up in a curb. He’s as comfortable working in the arena as he is on the trail.
Preacher has been with us since he was 2 years old, so his training, care, and history are all well known.
He’s been exposed to real life—trail rides, overnight camping, traffic, dogs, chickens, cows—and handles it all without becoming buddy sour or herd bound. Ride him out alone or in a group, he stays steady and willing. Preacher is responsive with a nice natural forward feel, he lopes off easily from a kiss and squeeze.
In the arena he will:
Pick up correct leads
Side pass, spin, back, and transition smoothly
Work on a loose rein Western or collected English.
On the ground he’s just as solid: stands tied, loads, clips, bathes, and stands quietly for mounting and farrier work. He respects fences and doesn’t require any special setup—just good hay, turnout, and regular care. Preacher will even pick you up at the mounting block!
Easy keeper on grass hay, barefoot all year with a size 3 shoe if needed. Up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and maintained on a consistent farrier schedule.
He fits most standard tack and doesn’t come with management headaches or extra requirements.
