Lucy is a big-bodied mare (1400 lbs) with a solid start and enough education to continue in several directions with the right person.
I bred and raised her myself and have owned both her and her dam, so her full history is known. She’s just turning 8 this month and has been in regular work under saddle for several years.
She has experience with (not finished):
Shoulder-in
Leg yield
Counter canter
Simple changes
Natural lead changes
Trail riding
Clinics
Some W.E. Obstacles
In-hand trail obstacle course
She’s also been popped over fences and seems to enjoy it, though I don’t currently have a jumping video.
Teens, amateurs, and professionals have ridden Lucy. She’s generally straightforward and not particularly spooky. She can have occasional Thoroughbred moments, and overall, she tends to be pretty uncomplicated. Lucy is a "Beach Cruiser / Type B" kind of horse, NOT a "BMX / Mountain Biking" kinda horse. She needs her rider to be assertive, supportive, and excited to work. Lucy also needs someone who loves her for her.
As a youngster, she had an issue that required surgery and a 6-week rehab period. She has been sound her entire life and in regular work since we started her under saddle. I’m happy to discuss her history openly with serious buyers - tire kickers need not inquire.
June 27th, 2026, I did a full lameness evaluation, AI Lameness evaluation, and got a few updated X-rays. I am happy to get those to any serious buyer. Also, any PPE beyond her current vet report is welcome; I am happy to help arrange that.
She’s being offered simply because I’m downsizing and she no longer fits my current goals. I’d really like to find someone who clicks with her and wants to continue developing her.
Dressage saddle and bridle may also be available.
