Rex Draft X mustang cross gelding, Grade, 10 year old Stands 15 HH Big heavy build, wears a size 2 shoe. This gelding has a solid resume: He has done everything w e have ever asked of him and every member o f the family has ridden him. He wasn't raised a s a "ranch horse" but has spent several years on a working ranch learning how to be one- doing all the ranch horse chores from covering many miles checking fence to days gathering and driving cattle in the mountains. We have several times had to rope and hold a full size runaway cow on him. He i s not the fastest cow horse but he will get in and handle it. Has been used in the shipping pens, doesn’t get buggered by bawling calves and pushy cows. Rex has also been ridden and used on multiple family camp trips and hunting trips. He i s no stranger to the trail or back country. He will ride or pack and has been used to pack in people and supplies and pack out elk. If you'd like to take him to the arena and enter a show-he's got you covered there as well. He works beautifully. Collected, nice soft trot, correct in his leads, good stop, plants his foot for his turns and will get into a slow spin. He will work a gate as well as cross obstacles. Lots of correct training. He is the type that if you leave him off for awhile you can still walk out catch him and get on and go. Will ride around bareback in a halter if you like.He does enjoy his groceries and is a very easy keeper, more whoa than go - however you can get him to do about anything you ask, he WILL work. He is a very versatile and very intelligent horse that's got some nice buttons as well as experience. As far as temperament he is personable, loves attention, good to groom-bathe-tack up, not difficult to catch. Stands for the farrier, hops right into the trailer and stands tied. He is sound, No history of any illness or lameness. The RIGHT home that appreciates him i s a HEAVY REQUIREMENT. He i s a QUALITY gelding. We will be picky about where he goes, otherwise he can stay right here. Only reason he is available is due to owner injury that has reduced riding time for awhile. We have alot of horses to keep ridden right now and lately Rex has been spending time on the back burner.
