Roxy's Sweet Fancy is a beautiful registered Gypsy Vanner cross mare, registered with the Gypsy Heritage Division of the Gypsy Horse Association. She has a sweet, kind, and people-oriented personality you will love, no vices, is sound, barefoot, UTD on everything, and ready to be your next best friend! Roxy stands out in the herd with her striking black color and long, thick flowing Gypsy tail and mane (growing back from a hunting pull!). She has just enough feathers to look special, but not so much they need special maintenance. You don't have to worry about catching her in the field - she will leave food and friends to come catch you and see what you're going to do today! At the perfect 15hh, Roxy is solid enough to carry a taller rider, but not so big she's hard to mount. She is 4 years old turning 5 next month, on July 28th, 2026. Even at her young age, she has already shown herself to be eager and willing for so many things. She was started lightly with w/t/c and trail riding, and then spent this past winter in additional professional training, where she also hunted the 2025-2026 season with Deep Run Hunt, second flight. She proved herself to be calm around the hounds and in large groups of horses. She is good trying new things and was recently exposed to mounted archery, and did great with the loud sound of arrows hitting the target. Roxy loves being outdoors doing things, and is a trail riding star. She has a brave and curious personality, and is not spooky. She crosses bridges and water, is traffic safe, will lead or follow, and is not bothered by things like hikers with off leash dogs, or falling branches. In her previous home, she was trail ridden alone, and used to pick up and escort other horses that were too nervous to ride alone. She is NOT gaited, but her Tennessee Walker sire gave her a dash of southern comfort in her ground-covering, easy to ride w/t/c, so you can sit back and enjoy the trail, but get somewhere at the same time! In the arena, Roxy is still green - she knows w/t/c and is working on balance, bending, muscle and endurance development. While she is hunt and trail ready, and in those areas could likely work for a confident novice, she needs a more skilled rider, or someone working hand in hand with a trainer, to continue her training and development in the arena. Despite being young and learning, she is safe, kind, and forgiving. Roxy is good for the vet, farrier, loads, trailers, bathes, and gets along well with other horses. She can live with mares or geldings, in a stall or out. She loves her outdoors time, but will cozy up and take a nap in her stall - she even neighs in her sleep! Roxy is the sweetest girl, she is young, willing, eager to learn, and has the best personality to make someone an amazing trusted partner for the next 20+ years. Lots of videos available!
