Our foals are not raised in stalls! Every baby lives with it's dam in a paddock and is turned out twice a day into a large pasture. Our weanlings live in outdoor stalls with the same turn out schedule, twice daily, with our other horses.
Merlin is already an exceptional colt. Born 4/28/2026 by Encanto, out of Saudade, by Dilatado. He has wonderful blood lines and very special coloring. He was color tested at UD Davis and will finish as a Buckskin with primitive markings (Dunskin). Color test shows: E/e A/a N/Cr D/nd1 with Gray Absent. He could make a very desirable stallion.
Sire: Encanto 16.2h owned by Anna Lee of Lyric Dressage is a rare Dunalino Lusitano, in the APSL studbook. He is an extremely well-mannered, well-schooled horse. Encanto was trained and competed by Miguel Undabarrena (National Working Equitation Coach). He has reached 4th Level in Dressage. The last photo is of Encanto.
Dam: Saudade (barn name, Monkey) 16h Buckskin bred by Marc Cardoso. She is a powerful, intelligent, beautiful mare and Merlin is her first foal.
Dam's Sire: Dilatado is a Black Lusitano in the APSL studbook. He is owned by EA Lusitanos. Dilatado was trained in Portuguese bloodless bullfights and Level 5 Working Equitation. He is a stunning, black Ortigao Costa stallion.
Merlin will be branded, micro-chipped, and registered with IALHA only due to the fact that his dam is IALHA only.
We expect Merlin to make a wonderful bloodless bullfighting horse, a stunning working equatation mount, or an accomplished dressage or cowboy dressage horse.
Both dam and sire have calm temperments, and good, solid heads on their shoulders. They are both extremely athletic and stunning to look at.
Merlin already shows an inquisitive nature, a natural athleticism, a powerful, well-formed structure, and a lot of confidence.
