Penny is the kind of Thoroughbred that reminds you why they make such exceptional sporthorses. A retired steeplechase mare with phenomenal movement, she combines athleticism, rideability, and a kind, hardworking attitude in one classy package. She has experience in hunter paces and has hunted with Oak Ridge. She’s been previously ridden by juniors and has happily packed around riders of varying experience levels. She has minimal jumping experience but I’m excited to continue her education. Penny is also a proven producer and the dam of Taproot Falco and Taproot Baroness. She consistently passes on her quality movement, athleticism, and excellent brain. As a broodmare prospect, Penny has struggled with anovulatory follicles the past two breeding seasons. If bought as a broodmare, she would need to be linked up with an experience reproductive vet for the best chances of breeding success. She’s currently being brought back into work and legged up, with more photos and videos coming soon. Penny is a quality, classy Thoroughbred with so much left to offer as someone’s next sporthorse partner.
