Önd Fra Dýrfinnustöðum is a stunning 13-year-old chestnut mare with the most beautiful flaxen mane and a personality to match.

Though only being in training with us for a short time, we have been incredibly impressed with how quickly this mare transitioned from an excellent broodmare to a wonderful riding horse. Önd is a sensitive and timid mare with the kindest nature and sweetest disposition. While forward-thinking, she stays with her rider, is eager to please, and genuinely enjoys having a job.

Imported in 2016, Önd is sired by the 1st Prize stallion Hágangur frá Narfastöðum, a highly evaluated four-gaited stallion with a total score of 8.31 and scores of 9 for tölt, trot, general impression, hooves, mane, and tail. These qualities shine through in Önd, both as a broodmare and riding horse, with her even, well-separated gaits and willing temperament.

She enjoys trail riding just as much as arena work and dressage, and her sensitivity and responsiveness make her a wonderful candidate for liberty work, which she has recently begun learning. She loves people, wants to please, and thrives with a thoughtful rider, though she can become overwhelmed if pushed too quickly.

Önd is a vivacious mare who is highly aware of both her surroundings and her rider, making her best suited for an intermediate rider with balanced aids and confidence. She would excel as a trail or endurance partner, an entry-level competition horse, and—with her pedigree and proven qualities—a valuable addition to any breeding program.
