Sonny is a 2022 KWPN dream horse. This big goofy boy comes when he’s called. He is extremely personable, loves to cuddle, and follows you around like a giant puppy dog. This colt has it all going for him. He’s got size, athleticism, scope, a smart mind and bombproof temperament. He has a massive ground covering stride in all 3 gaits with big overstride. His rhythmic canter is what truly sets him apart. He can jump the moon and has the confidence to do so. He is brave, loves to play and is always up for a new challenge.
Sonny’s ground manners are excellent. He leads well, stands tied, cross ties, loads, trailers, bathes. He puts his head in the halter and is easy to catch. He stands great for grooming and tacking up, braids and wraps. He lunges, round pens, and knows some in hand work. He has been going for hikes in the forest since he was a yearling and is not herd bound in the slightest.
Sonny was lightly started under saddle in the fall last year. He has never shown any nasty or dangerous behaviour at all (it simply isn’t in his nature). He has since been in full time training focusing on both flat work as well as jumping. He has recently competed in his first two shows scoring well and behaving like a perfect gentleman.
Sonny is bred to the 9’s with talented proven horses on both top and bottom of his pedigree. He is sired by On Ira, an extremely talented Selle Francais stallion who jumped an incredible 2m20 during the puissance CSIO of Rome. On Ira is by Voltaire. The world famous Voltaire is second on the World Breeding Ranking of Showjumping Sires. Voltaire has over 50 approved sons and is considered one of the more influential jumping stallions in the past 25 years. Sonny’s dam is sired by the incredible Durango VDL who is by world renowned Olympian: Zirocco Blue VDL. His accolades in both performance and breeding are too numerous to even begin to list. On the dam-line he boasts Jus De Pomme, double Olympic gold medal winner and extremely successful sire. The list of incredibly talented and proven horse’s in Sonny’s pedigree goes deep on both the top and bottom with too many to name them all.
Sonny is an absolute dream horse in every way. He has the amateur friendly temperament that everybody wants with his laid back personality and un-reactive mind. He is safe and sane and ready to continue his career with his forever person as he craves having a job. This forgiving horse can really take a joke as he really is just a big goober.
