Strider is a 7-year-old Standardbred gelding with an exceptional foundation and a kind, willing temperament. He is friendly, level-headed, and genuinely enjoys working with people. His groundwork is complete, and has had a few rides put on him. His reaction to having a rider for the first time was nice and boring. He was calm and polite and happy to learn something new. Videos of him being ridden are available. He now comfortably walks and trots under saddle, stops off your seat, and is softly responsive to lateral flexion.

He trailers politely, thrives barefoot on a forage-forward diet, and gets along well with other horses. Strider is happiest living outdoors in a herd environment with ample turnout. He does have a stall-kicking habit that originated during his racing career, so a 24/7 turnout home is required and has proven to be the best management solution for him.

This is the kind of horse that wants to be your partner. He is intelligent, uncomplicated, and has all the ingredients to become someone’s favorite riding horse.

As with all of my horses, I require a preliminary six-month lease period to ensure the partnership is a good fit before a sale is finalized. Prospective homes must be within three hours of my farm. Transportation assistance is available.
