Berta has been working at Morgan's Camp, an Ultra-Accessibleâ„¢ camp for everyone with a particular emphasis on giving people with physical and developmental disabilities an opportunity to enjoy summer-camp-type activities alongside guests without special needs, since 2021. She is a proven child-safe horse for lead-line activities, tolerating people walking next to her while doing arena patterns and trail rides. Berta is a very sweet horse that has had a long working career. She'll have a home with us, but we're hoping to find her a quiet pasture that can give her a real one-owner experience. At camp she specializes in the youngest of campers, making sure they're safe while having a fun time! Due to Berta's age and lack of teeth she eats (2) 3-quart scoops of Purina Equine Senior soaked twice a day. She isn't on hay, order from the vet. Her retirement home would need to assure us that she'll be able to receive a similar level of feed and care. The vet did just find a minor heart murmur May of 2026, but she was given the go-ahead for light work. Berta's got a little extra sway in her step from hind-end weakness but is a hardworking girl and will happily carry around children under the weight of 75lbs. Berta is up to date on all annual vaccines, floats, and farrier every 6-weeks. She will come with a felt saddle pad, leather 16" saddle that fits her, and a full bag of feed. If you're looking for a pasture horse that will safely tote around the kids, this mare is the one for you!
