Looking for her person. Registered Friesian SH, “Dreamshadow”. 2009 model.
This lovely mare has had a lighter workload for much of her life, spending a lot of years enjoying being a pretty lawn mower. Broke out at Findlay University ( some dressage) as a youngster and also spent some time as a gentleman’s trail horse, she has spent the last nine months at our hunter jumper facility getting fit and back undersaddle after her years as a pasture pet ( was a pasture pet due to family circumstances, not any health or injury issues with the mare)
“Pony” ( we also affectionately call her Porkchop as she was seriously out of condition and with a body score to match) is a stunning mare. Standing a robust 15.2 hands, is sound and is lovely to be around. She lives outside in a mixed herd and gets along with everyone.
Pony is solidly walk trot canter both directions and loves to do small cross rails. She’s never offered to buck rear or run off. Having said that she is still early in her training for her years and she is a big girl, so she’ll need someone with the correct skill set to finish her. Lovely potential just waiting to be finished, we recommend Pony's rider is someone with previous riding experience - or is working with a trainer that can do pro-rides. She's a fantastic horse with a lot of power that could intimidate a newer rider so we do not recommend her as a first horse-type.
Pony’s ideal home would be a pasture situation with multiple horses. She lived with just one other horse as a buddy almost her entire life and separating them was a process. For her well being we want to assure that she has multiple friends to be pastured with, having said that she’s not buddy sour and willingly leaves the group.
