Restart project looking for a good home! Princess Penny is a 6 yr old 14.2 hand QH-type grade mare. She was purchased from Benchmark Sport Horses in March of this year. Although she had done quite a bit in her short time there - English, western, some small jumps, trail riding etc, she was bought for a mature rider. We quickly discovered that she was quite green and anxious while being ridden. We did give it a solid try but she is definitely not the right match for her owner. We feel it best if she finds a home with someone who can let her be a horse for a bit and then re-start her with patience and time. Although not overly naughty, she did have a bucking incident that resulted in a nasty fall for her 65 yr old rider. We are not interested in having anyone out to try her as we have let her just be a horse (after a brief schooling by the trainer). She is a good girl on the ground and quiet and polite to her neighbors in turnout. She did some ground work and horsemanship sessions and seemed to love the unmounted obstacle course. She has had an intermittent lameness in front (obviously we have only worked her when sound and comfortable) and we do have x-rays of her front feet. She has an old scar on her left front hoof/pastern but nothing significant on x-rays. If someone is interested in a project or companion she is very reasonably priced.
