DJ is a lovely mover and loves to be the center of attention, always calling to you in the barn and being funny. He came to me in quite terrible condition, and although I bought him as a registered horse with just name pending, his breeder also abandoned his registration and will need to be started over again. *Which means you likely can pick a new name, if you so desire. I hope you do. No issues otherwise with that, the registry is aware and not at fault. This was a quite bad situation they got away with, nothing I can do. I'm an old Saddlebred girl, this and related issues were a huge betrayal, I want a clean cut from the abusive people they all promote and the horse to have a new home that isn't burdened by what his breeders and their fans did / still doing. From my extensive experience with mutliple Show barns higher than the breeder, Saddlebreds, and Rescues, he had an extremely abusive upbringing but this does not mean poor little baby boy, this means big bully teenager needed to learn some respect and not act out what a prior home did on us. He is not timid, and will act timid only to get his way: This is a typical Saddlebred trait. He is also kind and sweet but needs someone who understands the breed differences. He is an insecure but overconfident type horse, and just all Saddlebred. He is not dangerous (now), he is quite easy to work around (tie, clip, feet, tack, mount etc) I'd trust a child to walk, groom, or ride around with a handler no questions asked, no prep work, no worry- but he is still green and bred to be a Saddlebred. if you don't know Saddlebreds you won't get this, if you Do Know Saddlebreds you should understand this 100%. 🤷🏽♀️ I have hacked and longlined him around my property and he has finally gotten steering and stopping more solid instead of just throwing a fit at any contact ever, and recently learned how to back up correctly in a bit and in hand. His contact is getting to be lovely and consistent, despite his early longlining being just spinning wildly. He was not a fresh start coming to me but feel I truly have been closing up the training holes plenty enough for him to be a solid citizen in the right home. ❤️ he is not hot or an unload you type. He still needs filling out but has been growing non stop due to malnourishment in his early years, but they reliably can be caught up through their 4 year old season- peer reviewed studies verified, not social media. (and in my experience) I priced him at $35k before I realized how bad the registration situation was, thinking that would be growing to $45k likely by summers end. He is now reduced to $15k FIRM due to being a quite solid prospect without the registration and people issues. we all need a fresh start. for more pictures and videos (mine won't link) please text or call He can be tried or viewed daily at the farm in Alachua or on FaceTime Trials OK within reason, payment plan possibility, Lease potentially
