Finn 8-Year-Old Grade Quarter Horse Gelding • 15 HH • Janesville, CA Additional photos and videos to come. This gelding is deserving of a confident rider and is not suited for beginner riders or young children. Since owning him, he has had 3 months of professional training (1 month last year and 2 months this year) and has developed a solid foundation. He has no buck, bite, kick, or rear and is a pleasure to handle on the ground. ✔ Stands for the farrier ✔ Barefoot and trail ridden without shoes ✔ 100% sound ✔ Bathes, fly sprays, and stands quietly to be saddled ✔ No vices and does not pull back ✔ Hobble trained ✔ Drags objects and will pack a tarp Under saddle, he has been ridden extensively on the trail and is a very nice trail horse. He side passes, neck reins, moves off leg pressure, collects at the walk, trot, and lope, and has smooth transitions—including walk-to-lope departures. He is currently being ridden in a snaffle bit, is light in the face, and stays off your hands. He has a decent stop and is not a lazy horse. His main quirk is that he can be watchy out of his right eye and occasionally startles if the cinches drop on his right side. This is thought to stem from a rushed start earlier in his training and is actively being addressed by his trainer. He is not watchy on the trail itself—only somewhat sensitive to rider movement on that side. My trainer Petra Berankova describes him as having the potential at excelling in English disciplines and feels like an English horse and believes he could excel in that direction, though he also has all the makings of a solid trail partner. His foundation allows him to go either way depending on what you're looking for. This is a quality gelding with a good foundation, a willing attitude, and plenty of potential for someone looking for a horse they can continue to develop. If I wasn’t a novice rider I would not be selling him because he is an absolute gem. Serious inquiries only. If you're interested, I would be happy to put you in contact with his trainer to discuss him in more detail.
