At 14.1hh, he's compact in size but convinced he's at least 17 hands. He has completed his basic foundation in both English and Western disciplines and recently finished two months of professional training in Portola Valley. He's a nice mover, has a pretty face, a good brain, and genuinely enjoys having a job.
He was originally started by an 80-year-old trainer who believed horses should have good manners before fancy resumes. Over the years he's been ridden by supervised children, my 19-year-old son, my 60-year-old sister, and even an 88-year-old cowboy. He has a sensible mind, enjoys working, and generally approaches new experiences with curiosity rather than drama.
He is not a beginner horse unless working with a trainer. He's still young and unfinished, needing more miles, consistency, and someone willing to continue his education. We're not pretending he's a finished, push-button horse—but he has all the right pieces. He has the foundation to go in a variety of directions (3-Day, Hunter Jumper, barrels) and is ready for someone who wants to put their own stamp on him.
