Jana Elegance N Blue (“Ellie”)
Ellie is a remarkable, stunning 2021 AQHA blue roan mare standing approximately 15.1 hands. She was started under saddle in September 2024 and completed nine months of professional training before returning in May for a refresher prior to being offered for sale.
If you’re looking for a horse that will go all day and give you everything she’s got, Ellie is your girl. She has no shortage of energy and gives an honest effort every ride. She is best suited for an experienced rider who doesn’t mind the occasional spunky crow hop, forward energy, and a very sensitive, responsive mount. Ellie is exceptionally light to her cues and requires a rider with good feel and timing.
She has all the fancy buttons and is capable of turnarounds, side passes, leg yields, yielding her hindquarters, loping off from a walk, lead changes, smooth upward and downward transitions, and a big, dependable whoa. She has a huge, ground covering extended trot.
If you’re familiar with the Hancock reputation, this girl fits the mold. She isn’t a horse for a novice owner, but for an experienced horseman, she’s an absolute delight and the kind of partner people seek out. She was hauled to several shows last summer and handled the experience very well. She loads and unloads easily, stands tied and cross-tied, and is good for the farrier. Her only true vice is that she will need dorm gel before any veterinary procedures involving needles. She does have a few other quirks that I’d be happy to discuss with serious buyers.
She is barefoot, sound, and currently maintained with minimal supplements and occasional bodywork.
Ellie is a motivated mare who thrives with a consistent job. She should excel in ranch riding, western dressage, mounted shooting, or barrel racing. Personally, I would love to see her in reined cow horse or another cow-related discipline. Although her exposure to cattle has been limited, she has shown natural cow sense. I’ve also started her on the barrel pattern at home, where she’s shown plenty of potential and naturally wants to be quick and snappy through her turns. She is an exceptionally quick-footed, quick-thinking mare with a tremendous amount of grit.
Finding the right home is our highest priority. Ellie has had an incredible amount of love, time, and money invested in her, and we want nothing more than to see her continue to thrive with someone who appreciates her. Because of that, her price is negotiable to the ideal home.
