I picked this kid up during the winter when his connections reach out looking for help to find new careers for a few of their kids. He retired clean and sound just slow. Has been mostly vibing in group turn out.
I did throw a leg on him bareback when he first arrived just to get his feel. He’s smooth and feels a bit like he would do well in the hunter ring. His leads changes were a bit sticky but there. Based off his build I could also recommend the barrel pen but he does lack natural/trained speed so he likely won’t be your 1D placer but more for a not as competitive local pen. He is being listed as not restarted (it was one ride just to get the vibe).
He is starting to receive more rides now (I had to order a new tracking camera so undersaddle videos are currently unavailable) he was a bit uncomfortable with the bit at first but after getting his teeth done he’s improved. Fairly willing and simple no dramatics. Won’t be RRP Eligible for next year much longer.
Currently barefoot in large mixed herd turnout. Toward top of pecking order. Has been an easy keeper. Has a typical goofy baby bay gelding personality. Might not be quite a first restart type but should be fairly uncomplicated to bring along.
