This 15 year young mare, is beautiful, built like a tank, and has spectacular bloodlines.
She has a spirited personality with a soft heart- we recommend an advanced rider. She requires a knowledgeable, experienced rider, who can give her proper discipline when needed, without a heavy hand.
Due to MY medical issues, this mare has had very low miles since her arrival. She is handled constantly, but only has a saddle thrown on and ridden about once a month; she would be much happier if this was more frequent, but I’m still mending.
PRO: Stands for grooming, bathing, saddling, farrier, vet, leads nicely, easy to trailer (load/unload), good with other mares, geldings, foals, cows, goats, sheep, dogs, 4-wheelers, tractors, and vehicles; has a big heart and is eager to go, prefers having a job.
CON: She is not a mean lady, but can move quick and needs a rider who can respond appropriately and immediately, she is a strong horse. No buck, bite, or rear- sometimes will throw her head when anxious.
No supplemental medication has ever been prescribed or given. All vaccinations are up to date, including dental, and trimming- stands barefoot. Diet consists of cubes twice daily but eats anything and keeps her weight nicely. Easy keeper.
She resides and interacts daily on 12 acres with 4 equine and 12 goats- being boarded in a stall/barn may not be a good fit unless exercised regularly.
History: We brought her home late fall 2022 with breeding intentions, she was bred in 2024. Spring 2025, after carrying to full term, the foal was delivered stillborn. UCDavis performed extensive testing and research but was unable to determine the cause. We’ve kept her with thoughts of trying again, but my heart just can’t do it and she needs to be ridden.
