Looking for an experienced small/medium rider who wants to trail ride or do some arena work. $75/ride and if you wanted to muck the barn I could do second ride in the same week for $25. Meriwether has been with us since he was 4 months old. I bought him when he was a few days old and got him when weaned. His mom is a POA (13.3 h) and his dad is a chestnut QH (14h). He's been raised w 2 mares and a gelding, chickens and kids his whole life. Ponied him on trails for 3 yrs, started gently under saddle at 3, he's now 5 and a green but experienced trail horse going out with my older horses. He will wtc lunge, ground drive, wear a harness, easy to saddle and bridle. You can leaf blow him in the face, tarp him, wrap him in plastic bags. Not spooky on trail but relies on his horse buddies when he is unsure of anything. I'm 5'9 and I've been his only daily rider, he's 14 h with a sturdy build. He is very smart, can open any door, likes to come into the house, wants to be wherever you are and loves attention. He's a perfect size for a family horse, keeping him for grandkids. He loves water will go through anything on the trail. He hasn't done much arena work I have no arena so we do our work on trail or at the arena at the park. Tons of pix and vid. This summer he started doing creek rides sloshing through the deep water w me riding, he's very bold and a good partner. This is my first youngster I've raised from a baby so I'm looking for the right rider. He's green at the canter w a rider, only cantered twice so far w me riding. He has a comfy trot. He has pony humor, twice he tried to sit down on a fat bush on the trail (to itch his butt). You can always see it coming. He responds well to any cue w whip or leg, requires an active rider. He loves (and needs) all boundaries and he will try to do everything you ask. His spook is predicatable, if there is a new thing on a routine trail he will pop his head up and try to veer to the right. If you aim him back at the scary object he likes to stand and stare at it for two full minutes then he will go on past it. I'm getting older, have two older horses and Meri and a young filly I just started under saddle. No one else rides in my family so it's just me riding 4 horses every day. I'm just an old mom and a little tall for Meri but he hasn't complained. I would like to find someone to lease him here at my house if someone wanted to ride together for company and safety a few rides a week, or help me finish breaking him to cart. He'd be a great driving pony. Please reach out I'd to hear from you and what you're looking for. Pony clubbers or old mom riders especially welcome!
