I have owned Benny for 6 years now and he has been the mellowest horse I’ve ever owned. He is gentle and cooperative during grooming, tacking up, and hoof care. He goes into the horse trailer without a fuss and comes out easily as well. He stands tied without pawing and does his groundwork at liberty. On the trail he is enthusiastic and walks out nicely with no spookiness or drama. He crosses water, logs and has never offered to kick at other horses. He doesn’t bolt, buck or rear. I have ridden him in front or in back. Before I bought him he was ridden extensively at Silver Falls Park. I have ridden him mostly at Willamette Mission. I have taken him to clinics and he has done well. Benny is sound, goes barefoot, and only needs teeth floated every 3 years (according to vet). His neck got a little cresty a few years ago when I fed him orchard grass hay. (His price reflects this)….my fault. My vet checked him out, we did a metabolic panel (which was fine) and he has done well on Teff hay or something similar. Those records would be available to anyone interested. Benny would do best with an intermediate rider. When he is ridden on the farm he will sometimes pull away toward the gate. It’s easy to block him or circle him but it can be annoying. He doesn’t do it on the trails. He has been ridden consistently but the last two years mostly on the farm or at an arena. If you’re interested in videos please let me know what you want to see… liberty, obstacles, etc.
