Samson is an 8-year-old draft cross gelding standing 17.2 hands, weighs exactly 1,515 pounds (as of 07-12-26) and wears a size 5 shoe. He is sired by an AQHA registered driftwood stallion and out of a registered Percheron mare, giving him an exceptional combination of athletic ability, size, and an outstanding mind.

Samson is the kind of horse that truly meets you where you’re at. He is completely kid-friendly and amateur-friendly, with a kind, forgiving nature that gives riders confidence. At the same time, he’ll step up for a more experienced rider and has the training and ability to get the job done when asked.

In the arena, Samson is soft, responsive, and enjoyable to ride. He has all of his body control, smooth flying lead changes, and rides with the feel and willingness that make him a pleasure whether you’re tuning on him or simply enjoying a quiet ride.

Outside the arena is where he really shines. Samson is a confident trail horse that will go wherever you point him without hesitation. He has been used to rope and gather horses in the past and is currently used for all aspects of ranch work as well as pleasure riding. He stays willing all day and is just as happy covering country as he is riding in the arena. Samson is the same horse in town as he is at home.

On the ground, Samson is a true gentleman. He stands tied patiently all day without pawing or pulling back, loads and hauls exceptionally well, and will eat and drink while traveling. He isn’t barn sour, buddy sour, or trailer sour, and there isn’t a mean bone in his body. He picks up all four feet politely, moves his body via body and voice commands, and leads willingly. He genuinely enjoys people and is easy to have around.

Samson has the size and substance to carry any rider while still being soft, athletic, and enjoyable to ride. Samson is current on all routine care. He is up to date on vaccinations as of April 19, 2026, was dewormed on May 11, 2026, and had his teeth floated, sheath cleaned, and a current Coggins pulled on May 22, 2026. He is ready to hit the road and go straight to work or be enjoyed by his next owner.

He is the same horse every time you saddle him and is ready for a home where he’ll continue to be appreciated and enjoyed.
