Currently 14 hands and growing. Clean, straight and correct confirmation with quality movement. Lovely canter. Barefoot with good feet. He is currently in a growth spurt and while he will continue to fill out and grow upwards, but will still be the refined, sporthorse type with a good head.
Cute as a button and a lovely young horse with a lot of promise! A quality, athletic and sporty draft cross that will mature to the highly sought after cob size range. He is a stellar prospect with a good start on the ground and undersaddle.
On the ground Pickle is easy to catch, handle, and lead. He loads and trailers well. He’s happy in his stall and is good in turnout with his pasturemate. Comes to the gate when called, and stands well to have his halter put on, and is lovely to bring in or turnout. Leads In and out with four on the floor. He enjoys being groomed and handled. He will tie to the wall without issue. He stands well to have his feet trimmed and can have all four feet picked up without issue. He is well mannered about having his face tidied up with clippers. He is mannered in his stall and has no vices, soundness/health concerns, and an overall lovely prospect for someone to bring along. Pickle is handled daily and is used to the routine of a busy barn with horses in and out during the day, dogs underfoot, equipment, riders coming through, leaf blowers, and other farm activity. He is pastured next to cows, calves, bulls and longhorn steers and has no fear or issues with them. He is very friendly and personable.
Pickle has been lightly started undersaddle. He took well to learning about the tack, a rider’s basic aids, and going on small group hacks around the farm. He has also been ponied off of another horse. While still young and green, Pickle demonstrates a good mindset, quality movement, good confirmation, and a lot of promise to excell in many disciplines in his future.
