ATMF Sirocco is a giant goofy puppy. He’s 7 years old but acts 3. Raised with tons of love and excellent care but little training due to his owner/breeder’s health. Under saddle training has been inconsistent but excellent so he retains well even with a year off. He is correct and solid in what he knows. Bathes, clips, loads, farrier, cross ties, runs to gate to greet us and follows us everywhere. Stands patiently at mounting block, lowers head for easy bridling. Rides totally quiet and happy at walk and trot on soft rein to halter/bit. Responds properly to seat and light legs. Loves earning treats and praise and tries hard to determine right answers. Due to owner’s poor balance he has not been cantered or ridden out of round pen. He has never been subjected to side/draw/check reins. Seeks the correct stretchy connections and is eager to please.
All he needs is a kind, compassionate, generous and knowledgeable rider to help guide his willingness to please into a dependable partner. He is very expressive, interactive and easy to read. He is sweet, loves playing learning games and begs for attention like a happy clown. However, due to his lack of experience he lacks confidence in the outside world and in himself. Even things he encounters regularly can worry him. Fortunately his trust in us reassures him that he is fine. Sirocco is smart and sensitive so with positive reenforcement he learns well and retains long term.
Physically he appears the specimen of excellent health and vitality at 16.1 hands barefoot and about 1250#. Excellent legs and big bare feet, strong back, deep hips and shoulder, long lovely neck, beautiful balanced conformation and stunning deep dappled gold color. No known health issues.
From what I’ve seen of the “TRTmethod” I think that approach would help Sirocco find more confidence. He’s being ridden again now and ready to learn and do more. Price reduced because I only care about finding his human partner so he can thrive and be someone’s dream horse for life.
