Great kids pony, show pony, trail pony, ranch pony etc.
If you can hold the reins - you can ride this horse.
When I say that I will put anyone on this horse. I do not say that lightly. I have put all levels of riders on him and he's done everything here from trail riding, to play days and is the type you can leave out for weeks or months or even years and send your kids out to get and bring in and tack up and ride off. He's the type that typically would NEVER be for sale. He is more than worth his weight in gold. He is an absolute insurance policy and is barefoot and on zero maintenance while being as pretty and sweet as one could want!
Neck reins, side pass goes on a loose rein etc. heck I'd ride him bridle-less or bareback in a halter all day and not think twice.
Stands in cross ties, bathes, loads, etc.
Been there, done it, seen it.
He was broke right and knows how to take care of the littles.
Puts his head down to bridle, can be managed in the barn by toddlers if you wanted. He's just uncomplicated in every way here.
If you googled western ranch / reining pony - his picture would possibly come up (joke of course) but on a serious note, think reining reject / kids reining pony or ranch pony. He's cute, compact and sturdy.
He had a couple years off due to circumstances (not his own) but my kids pulled him in, tacked him up and rode him off like it was nothing the next day in the river and up the creeks and through the forrest. He's not silly or mean or bad whatsoever. So he is definitely the type that can sit and still be safe! He knows his job and enjoys people and is one that will surely get you noticed anywhere you go!
I would consider him to very soft and fancy broke but not a "fast" horse for true speed events/ rodeo events. You will surely look good - but you won't win. But for 4H shows, trail rides, ranch classes or anything equitation, he would absolutely amazing and make even a novice look good! He will hide your imperfections and look good doing it. He has all the buttons you could ever want, just naturally tends to be a bit on the slower/ pleasure side of things so you're not going to turn in him into your next 1D barrel horse.
My kids have played around barrels and poles with him (non competitively as practice drills) and taken him trail riding with the dogs through every kind of terrain you can imagine and he goes out on a nice loose rein and is always getting compliments in my barn and everywhere he goes. All the kids adore him and he always remains our insurance policy.
He is currently at my facility to be sold and will continue to be ridden by my kids and in my program til sold! And as one can imagine with a pony as cool as him, my kids are enjoying every single minute of it!
