Gentle giant available. I have been using Max in my lesson program for teaching beginning riding lessons for all ages. I am downsizing which is the only reason I am selling. Prior to me, Max was used in 4H and OHSET. He carries himself beautifully and has nice, easy gaits. This horse’s lope/ canter is like riding a Cadillac. He has a great stop, easy transitions, side passes, forehand/ haunch turns, and lead changes. Not spooky, and much more whoa than go. He is very cuddly. I call him my giant lapdog. He likes to be in your space without being pushy about it. He can be grumpy and cinchy, but he communicates well without being reactive. If you continue to push him without slowing down, he can be a little nippy (has never actually bit me though). ✅ Kid safe (he’s just BIG) ✅ Husband safe ✅ Great on trail ✅ Trailers well ✅ Stands for farrier ✅ Up to date on vaccines, wormer and teeth (done earlier this year) Maintenance: - This horse needs shoes as he has very soft feet. When I got him, he did not have shoes, and he had two abscesses in the hinds. Since having him shod, he’s been sound and we haven’t had an issue since - Joint supplement (I use rosehip from herbco.com). Just to keep him feeling his best self. - Feed: Alfalfa & grass hay twice daily. Purina enrich, rice bran, and beet pulp. He was underweight when I got him, and then he lost more weight with the abscesses. He’s gained a lot of weight & muscle in his top line since rehabbing him, but I’d like to see him continue to put on more. Videos available upon request.
