Spicy (but sweet) mare alert! This girl has been so fun to bring along, and I’m sad the time has come to sell. She is also incredibly sweet. She can be a bit standoff-ish at first, but now she nickers every time she see me, walks up to the gate when I go to catch her, and loves her neck scratches.
She lunges great both directions. Responsive to vocal cues. She can be a bit pushy on the lead rope, so I use a rope halter.
Originally, she did lower level dressage (side passes, forehand/ haunch turns, leg yields, etc). She collects BEAUTIFULLY and is a very talented mover. She’s just spicy and wants to go. Prior to me, she had some time off (I’m not sure how many years). She’s been very eager to get back to work and enjoys it. She has brakes and will respond to half halts, but she is FORWARD.
We’ve been playing around with her on what she seems interested in. We’ve free jumped her, and this horse has SCOPE. I’ve also allowed my intern to teach her the barrel pattern, and she’s quick with nice turns. This horse has an incredible amount of talent and athleticism and seems content with whatever direction you point her.
This horse will do anything you want, BUT you have to know how to ride. You have to use your seat and breath control. She will not tolerate sloppiness. She is high in the pecking order and will test you to see if you’re qualified to be leader.
I always say that the most talented ones are the more difficult ones to ride. She has so much to offer if you can tap into that. This horse is NOT for beginners. She needs at least a confident intermediate that’s not afraid to stay in control.

- Raspberry leaves (helps so much with the mare attitude)
