Beautiful 2019 chestnut American Saddlebred gelding standing approximately 17.1hh. Registered with the American Saddlebred Horse & Breeders Association with a Saddleseat show record. He is a wonderful option for someone who loves the Saddlebred breed, presence and elegance, but doesn't necessarily want the high-powered ride that can come with a show horse. He is not overly hot or forward, but he isn't dull or a kick ride either. He's much more of a push-button ride—responsive, willing, educated and genuinely enjoys being ridden. His Saddleseat training has given him beautiful natural carriage and an excellent education. He knows how to handle himself, is straight and correct, and wants to please. He has good, sturdy legs and feet, has had zero health or soundness issues, is excellent for the farrier, current on vaccinations and Coggins negative. He can be slightly shy/reserved in personality, but he is not spooky. He has a sensible demeanor and a very nice balance of energy and responsiveness without being reactive. His primary experience has been in the arena, where he is beautiful to ride, and he has recently started doing some light trail riding. He has handled the transition well, but I would consider him started rather than finished on trails, leaving plenty of opportunity for someone to continue developing him outside the arena. He is low in the herd pecking order and has no vices or bad habits. The only current quirk worth mentioning is some mild buddy attachment that has developed on the ground after living closely with a couple of other horses over the past year. When separated and unable to see his companions, he may quietly move his feet in place. He is easily redirected when told to stand, and we're working on it. This does not carry over under saddle—once mounted, he will leave the other horses and ride out without issue. He is being offered only because I haven't had the time to give my horses that I anticipated this year and need to reduce my numbers. He deserves a home where someone can enjoy the excellent foundation he already has and continue giving him a job. A big, beautiful, kind and well-educated gelding who offers all the presence and elegance of a Saddlebred without being an excessively hot or high-powered ride. Serious inquiries welcome. Additional photos, videos, registration information and show history available. He would make an excellent dressage horse with training, as well as an excellent trail Horse. He pays attention to his feet, is very forgiving, takes direction well, and wants to please. He also has shown an aptitude for trail riding. While this is a new chapter in his life, he is taken to it very smoothly. Being introduced to traffic, wildlife, dogs, unexpected interactions with motorcycles and bicycles, as well as a variety of obstacles and he always considers the obstacle, attempts it smoothly while thinking it through. He definitely has the mindset for it.
