Carrot's journey is a testament to resilience. When she arrived at Off Course Rescue & Sanctuary, she was underweight, fearful, and reactive after a difficult past. Through months of rehabilitation, patient training, and compassionate handling, she has transformed into a mare who is learning to trust people again and embrace a new future. Carrot is seeking an experienced, confident rider who understands that every rescue horse comes with a story. She has been restarted under saddle and has been ridden in the arena only. We were told she was previously broke to both ride and drive, though we cannot verify her prior training. She stands well for the farrier, ties, enjoys grooming, and has made tremendous progress in her ground manners. While she has historically been reactive when handled, her confidence continues to grow and she is now much more comfortable around people. Like many sensitive horses, she can be anxious in new situations, but she responds well to patient, consistent handling and positive reinforcement. Carrot is currently maintained on grain along with supplements to support gut health and help manage anxiety. This listing is being shared as an early introduction while we finalize her adoption profile.
