JJ’s Silver Mercedes - 15.1 hands - DOB 4/15/2021 - Registered and Certified Rocky Mountain Mare
Several months ago, Mercedes came to North Gait on consignment. We took photos, videos, and started getting her ready to find her next home.
We briefly marketed her, but as I worked with her, I found that she wasn’t progressing the way a horse who feels good in their body does. After thoughtful discussion with her owner, we decided to dig in and make sure she was performing and feeling her best. With support from a great team of veterinarians and thoughtful training and conditioning, we feel that Mercedes is finally ready to find her human.
Mercedes has become a more confident trail horse and continues to improve with consistency. She has been hauled off the farm multiple times, crosses water, handles trail obstacles well, and is gaiting consistently under saddle.
She is good for the farrier and veterinarian, she bathes and stands well for fly spray, loads quietly in all styles of trailers, stands tied, and cross ties well, clips, and is friendly and easy in a group pasture setting. She is currently middle of the herd, in a group of mares. Mercedes is respectful on the ground and easy to be around.
Mercedes has been ridden by myself and a few friends here at the farm. I believe she would be best suited to an intermediate or above rider that can continue to further her training and confidence as she matures.
Mercedes does require ongoing veterinary maintenance. Her veterinary records, radiographs, and treatment history are available to serious buyers.
She would thrive in a home that appreciates a good communicator, and is willing to continue the thoughtful management that has helped her thrive.
