Those of you who caught the Diary of a Wimpy Kid theme… yep. 😂 That’s exactly where Greg got his name. But despite a little bit of a wimpy start to life, we don’t expect this guy to be a Wimpy Kyd for long.
Greg started out a little behind in growth when his mom wasn’t producing enough milk. We purchased him last fall at weaning, and since then he has caught up beautifully. He was gelded this summer and also had an umbilical hernia repaired.
We expect Greg to mature somewhere around 16 hands with a big, solid build. He has the makings of a wonderful all-around horse; good minded enough to become a family horse, yet sturdy enough to carry dad down the trail, and athletic enough to go pull around some bulls if that's where life takes him.
Greg is a sibling to our son’s horse, Trooper, and a cousin to our main lesson horse, Blakken. He has that same easygoing mind and friendly, curious personality we've come to know and love from all of our “Betty horses.”
Most importantly, y’all know how I feel about selling untrained young stock. 😉
So Greg is being offered priced with a colt-starting package included, to be redeemed here at North Gait between January–March 2028. I want his future owner to get to enjoy raising him, while also knowing that when the time comes to start his riding career, he has a place reserved here to build that foundation.
Greg is looking for someone who wants a good young horse to grow with, and I have no doubt he’ll be a pretty special addition to the right family or program.
