A heart horse with a puppy-dog personality - owner going to school forces sale.
Poppy is an OTTB development/project horse looking for a home with regular professional training or someone experienced with restarting track horses. ISO quick, uncomplicated sale to the right home. Additional flexibility for a buyer who wants to keep her in our program.
She's currently in a fitness & horsemanship-focused hunter/jumper training program and is not yet a point-and-shoot ride. Working on balanced flatwork in a lease with an adult ammy. We are prioritizing strength and fitness before asking more over fences, so we do not yet know her full scope potential. However, she is athletic and willing, so she wouldn’t surprise us if she becomes a stellar jumper with more fitness & training.
Special care — Cribbing: she has responded extremely well to our specialized OTTB management; we've been able to fully prevent the behavior in our care with a customized stall/run setup. Glue-on shoes on a 5 week cycle: recent radiographs available, happy to discuss mild findings with serious buyers only.
PPEs welcome. Pro trials only at this stage of her training.
Would be suitable for an amateur or even brave junior, but we ask that you bring your trainer for trial rides at our barn (located in Happy Valley, just outside of SE Portland). Price to increase as she gains more professional training & experience.
