“Flash” is an awesome horse with the best personality! He is a big puppy dog which is what made us fall in love with him in the first place. He has some education in the arena, I think would really excel with somebody who wanted to do some Dressage or sport horse type stuff with him. He was purchased as an endurance horse, and honestly it’s just not for him. I think that he could absolutely do some LDs or slow 50s. Add speed or mileage over 50 and he seems to fall apart. There has been no specific reason for this, no major injury, etc. He has some minor changes on x rays, but it just seems like mostly bad luck. Sometimes a pulled shoe, a fall and a scraped knee, cramp etc. Vet checks are welcome and encouraged. Always seems to be something different. Long term we believe he should step down from competitive endurance and have a good life doing something that is more agreeable to his body. He does wing the right front but that isn’t one of the issues we’ve had. He is a great trail horse, not spooky, not a dead head either though. He has huge gaits and rides more like a Warmblood than an Arab, which is why I think he would really excel in that. He is a very good boy and could absolutely be a lesson type horse for that too, he just has big gaits and might bounce a little kid right out of the saddle. He’s currently sound and has just been put back into training. He was last pulled for lameness at the end of a 65 mile ride in February, he was taken to UC Davis and they said give him two months off for a- we gave him 5. He looks great and is ready for his next home. Good home takes priority above all else. Very well bred racebred Arabian, was successful on the track.
