I don't say this lightly—Ivy is quite possibly the sweetest mare I have ever been around. She is an absolute dream to handle, LOVES children, and genuinely adores attention. If there is a child nearby willing to love on her, Ivy is convinced that's exactly where she belongs. She is the kind of mare that is simply a pleasure to have in the pasture and be around every day.

We purchased Ivy bred because we wanted our family to experience the magic of raising a foal. After weeks of watching her around the clock on the camera, she of course waited for the one single hour we all fell asleep to have him! We woke up to the most gorgeous, healthy colt already standing beside her. She proved to be an exceptional mother and made the entire experience incredibly special.

Ivy has produced five foals by well-known stallions and is an experienced, excellent mother. We fully intended to breed her again, but I couldn't make up my mind on a stallion until it was simply too late in the season. She has also had her genetic disease panel verified through UC Davis and is clean, and I have the documentation available.

Prior to becoming a broodmare, we were told Ivy was a finished reining horse who was retired following an injury of unknown specifics. When we purchased her, she was represented to us as sound for light trail riding. We have not personally explored riding her or had her soundness evaluated for that purpose, so I am not selling or representing her as riding sound. She does not have any obvious soundness issues in her everyday life, but I want her next owner to have the full history we were given and make their own decisions regarding riding.

On the ground, she is about as easy as they come. Ivy is excellent for the farrier, easy to catch, ties quietly, loads easily, and is uncomplicated to handle. Her temperament is truly what makes her special.

In the interest of complete transparency, the only fault we have found with Ivy is that she will lightly crib when given the opportunity in the right environment. This was not disclosed to us when we purchased her. We currently keep her in a pasture without anything suitable to crib on, and it has been a nonissue.

Ivy would be incredibly hard to beat for someone looking for a beautiful, experienced broodmare with an exceptional disposition, or simply a genuinely sweet mare to add to the family. She's been a wonderful mother, she's safe and enjoyable to handle, and she has enough personality to make it very easy to fall in love with her.
