Meet Catty, a six year-old, 15.2 hand, black mare. Catty is as dependable and trustworthy as they come! She has had a lot of worldly experience, including pushing, penning and sorting cattle. She’s confident working in a herd and around all the commotion that comes with a busy ranch, including ropes, dogs, four-wheelers, and heavy machinery! I’ve taken her up the mountains and covered lots of country on her, she rides quietly with or without a group. She crosses all types of terrain. Everyday distractions like farm animals, gunshots, plastic bags, bicycles, passing vehicles, don’t phase her! Catty is an investigator, she loves to investigate new things out of curiosity. She will walk you over to a plastic bag to go nose to nose with it before walking off! That’s my favorite thing about her! Under saddle, she is light and responsive. Rides great off of your leg. She neck reins but needs leg to back it up. You can open and close gates on her. She has a nice stop and backup, she side passes, she turns on her frontend and hindend. I’ve started her on roping the head side of the heel-o-matic. She took to it quick, and has a natural feel for it! It won’t take long to get her started on cattle! She’s easy to catch, load, bath, tack up ect. She stands for the farrier and to be mounted! She’s an easy keeper on just grass/alfalfa mix. No maintenance. Super friendly in your pocket type not very marish and easy to get along with!
