The best part about riding 6-year old Frankie is his sure-footed, square way of going. He is an accomplished trail horse, ridden often on groomed trails as well as in the high-country. Frankie will carefully pick his way across off-trail, complicated (rough and steep) cross country terrain (no constant tripping or pacing on straight stretches in this fella!). He confidently loads in a trailer, crosses moving water, bridges, ponys other horses, and will ride out alone or with others without issue. Blue-eyed Frankie was purchased as a weanling, then started under saddle as a coming 3-year old by his owner. He is 3/4 Tennessee Walking Horse and 1/4 Spotted Saddle Horse. He has excellent confirmation, with straight legs and good feet. Frankie has never been ill, injured or unduly scared. As seen in the accompanying video, he can be ridden in a halter, but is usually ridden in a bridle with a short-shanked snaffle bit. At home he is normally turned out on pasture with two other geldings, then stalled at night or in stormy weather. He is calm whether working with him on the ground or from the saddle. Frankie is good natured and always ready-to-go when it's time to hit the trails Please, serious inquries only. If interested, please contact his owner, Rob Keyser, 360-701-1635, for more information. Rob lives near Olympia, WA. If possible, he would prefer to take a potential new owner on at least one trail ride in Capitol Forest, to help ensure a successful match between horse and rider.
