Socks is a very sweet and friendly mare who has been trained through Second Level. She has had the same owner since retiring from racing, and all of her medical records from Cleveland Equine Clinic are available. She is curious, very treat-oriented, and eager to learn, which makes her fun and easy to train. Socks has a very good work ethic and truly wants to please her rider. She can sometimes be a little proactive and anticipate what is coming next, but this comes from her eagerness to work and please. She has three beautiful gaits, with her canter being the highlight. She has different gears within each gait and is developing good balance and adjustability. She is currently working on flying changes and canter lateral work. Socks also enjoys working at liberty and can do some liberty lunging. She is learning the Spanish walk and will position herself at the mounting block on command and wait for her rider to mount. Socks is low in the pecking order and gets along well with other horses. She would be happiest in a small herd, preferably with mares. She has no vices and stands quietly for the farrier, dentist, and vet. She is the kind of horse who greets you when you arrive at the barn and comes to you in the field when you go to bring her in. She is friendly, personable, and genuinely enjoys being around people. Her tack, including her saddle and blankets, will also be included.
