Balvenie PWD is a fun, energetic 16.1 hand chestnut gelding with exceptional German bloodlines. Imported from Germany as a 4-year-old, he is by the legendary Benicio out of a First Choice mare. He has been given patient, deliberate time over the past couple of years to allow his mind and body to fully mature. We have realized he does not possess Grand Prix dressage talent, but he is currently schooling First Level and his athletic build and incredible engine make him an ideal future star for the hunter/jumper or eventing world. He could also succeed further in dressage in the right hands with a patient rider who can continue to give him time to develop. He represents a great opportunity for the lower budget to step into top-tier European lines.
Movement and Potential
Balvenie PWD possesses three excellent, high-quality gaits highlighted by an incredibly powerful, ground-covering canter. He has all the athletic pieces to make a fantastic sport horse in a different ring, showing great suitability for jumping lines or cross-country terrain. He is the perfect project for a rider who enjoys a forward, energetic horse and wants world-class breeding at an accessible price point.
