UPDATE-
Took Rounder to the WMHA Show in St. John’s. Was my 2nd time EVER riding him…He did the Reining, Ranch Riding, Western Eq and Trail.
This horse is AMAZING!!

Let me preface this by telling everyone that he had five minutes of warm-up with a horse change between English and Western. He literally got pulled off the trailer and practically went straight to the ring. I have also never shown in any western classes before and he tolerated all of my rookie mistakes like a champ!

“Rounder” is a grade QH type gelding looking for his next partner. 18 yrs YOUNG!!!
This guys has LOTS of productive years left!
He’s a solid 15.2 hands and probably 1200 lbs.

He’s been used for the last several years as a trail mount for a 70 yr old, but horse savvy man. He says he’s the most surefooted trail horse he’s had.

Previously he’s been used in all aspects of ranch work.

Under saddle he’s quiet and more whoa than go. He’s pretty fancy broke. Neck reins like a dream, pivots, rollbacks, stops hard.
He’s fun!!

On the ground his kind of your typical ranch horse type. He’s kind but not snuggly.
A little cinchy, but nothing bad, I just snug him slow.
He hobbles and ground ties. Occasionally will pull back hard tied but far and few between.

He’s had great care and it shows.
Currently I’d say he’s VERY slightly tender footed. We’ve had a tremendous amount of rain, so I’m guessing he’s just a little soft soled due to the moisture.
ZERO previous history of ANY lameness issues.

Plain shod in front, barefoot behind.
Last dental October 2025
Has had zero maintenance

I think this go could do a number of jobs from trail/pleasure or back to the rodeo/ranch life.
