Experienced, Trail-Safe, and Full of Personality 8-year-old registered Rocky Mountain Gelding looking for his next partner. He has been owned by the same owner for the past 5 years and has been a much-loved part of her family.
He was sent to a professional trainer when he was younger and has continued to be consistently ridden throughout the years. His current owner is in her mid-60s and has primarily ridden him herself. She considers herself an advanced beginner rider, and he has been a reliable trail partner for her.
He has been exposed to a LOT and has experience with:
• Water crossings
• Bridges
• Traffic
•Rides western, English, and bareback
• Different trail systems and environments
• Riding in and out of the arena
• Loading and hauling to numerous trail rides
• Riding with other horses or out alone
• Fencing and respecting boundaries
• Being caught, handled, groomed, and saddled easily
He is easy to catch, easy to handle, and good with other horses. He has a big personality and is a fun, personable horse who knows his job.
He is safe and experienced, but he is also an 8-year-old horse with some forwardness and personality. He can push boundaries if allowed to, so he would do best with someone who is confident, consistent, and comfortable maintaining good boundaries. He is not being advertised as a dead-broke, sit-back-and-do-nothing type of horse.
I am posting him as a favor to his owner, who has never sold a horse before. I do not own gaited horses and do not personally ride gaited horses, so I will not attempt to describe or evaluate his gaits. Serious buyers are welcome to come see him and evaluate his movement and suitability for themselves.
This horse has been ridden and enjoyed by the same owner for the last five years, has been hauled extensively, and has seen a wide variety of trail environments. He is looking for someone who will appreciate his experience, personality, and ability to get out and enjoy the trails. Located in Fries VA can haul anywhere in the lower 48 for an added fee
