This could be YOUR once in a lifetime Horse. This IS the horse I'VE waited my lifetime for!
I saw this colt, fell in love with him, bought him, and raised him at my ranch, with the plan and the hope to keep him forever and getting him to the Show pen. He's had all his preliminary schooling, from ground driving to wearing a tarp on his head!!! To being sadded and ridden. He has had 6 months of riding, spread out over a couple of years. He's been ridden with other horses and at a few different barns. He's willing, and retains his training.
Life can get complicated, and the timing is off right now....my husband is on oxygen 24x7, and the likelihood of me actually taking my horse to a show is looking a bit slim.
"Swagger" is LOADED with personality, whinnies joyfully at my whistle. Puts his hay into his water and soaks it as he munches, loves my 98lb German shepherd, who follows us as we ride around our 5 acres. Greets people with a nice approach, ears up and his silly mustache twitching! Very friendly. We have neighbors that walk by, and love to visit with him.
He enjoys grooming, being washed, even clipping... EVEN his ears! Loads and unloads for trailering unassisted.
He's been tied and cross tied.....For fairly long periods of time! He can be a little lazy under saddle, spurs help!
I ALWAYS slip hobbles on him, when he's tied, either for grooming/saddling, or just patience, because he will paw.
He's busy, best when he's got a job, when he's riding, or turned out. He does lunge line work, easily before riding, if you like. When I'm riding every day, I can step right up on him, and go right to riding. I can open the gates with ease and he's patient when we pause.
If he sees a sprinkler on, after a ride, he heads RIGHT FOR IT and holds his head and face in the water! He looks so silly!!!
He's VERY hairy, I keep him body clipped because I want to ride him every day, and it's easier. Beautiful, luxurious feather, I can blow dry him with the blower or the hairdryer!
When it's really hot, he basks in the fan..... happy for it!
He tracks the ducks and some of the cats, not spooky, but definitely needs and experienced rider/handler. With your finishing touch he could be show ring ready in 60 days.
My heart breaks that I can't finish this with Swagger, but my head and my situation dictates the truth.
He is AMAZING, a beautiful trot and GORGOUS 3 BEAT lope/canter. Smoothest ride ever and a super tight stop. Backs, sidepasses. Stands for mounting.
